David '64 and Nancy Pond
In many ways, David's and Nancy's commitment as members of the Daniel and Hannah Kimball Society is a testament to their life's work as members of the KUA community and as lifelong educators.
David's time as a student was blessed with outstanding teachers, coaches, and friendships, many of which continue to this day.
Following college, Nancy and David arrived on the hilltop as newlyweds in 1969. Over the next twelve years, David served as a teacher, coach, Director of Admissions and Director of Development. Nancy served as French teacher for several years, and KUA is where both of their children were born.
David and Nancy moved on to Deerfield in 1981 where they continued to work in the independent school world. However, they did not lose touch with KUA. David served in several volunteer roles , including 8 years as a member of the Board of Trustees.
In 2013 and in recognition of the wonderful work being done by the students and faculty , David and Nancy established a lasting endowment gift . They created the Pond Family Head's Discretionary Fund, the income from which the Head of School may use to fund needs for students and faculty not covered by the operating budget. David and Nancy like the flexibility of the endowment fund because they can add to it at any time.
Although both Nancy and David are retired, David currently serves as a trusted advisor to Head of School, Tyler Lewis, and the Advancement Team.
